Every sky belongs to a night

Accuracy

Anyone can draw stars. We compute them.

The data

8,400+ naked-eye stars from the Yale Bright Star Catalogue, each moved to its position on your date.

The physics

Earth’s rotation, the slow wobble of its axis (precession), the true Moon phase and the planets — for your exact minute.

Questions

Is it a physical poster?

No — you get digital files the moment you pay, and print them at home, at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens or Staples, or with any print shop. No shipping, no waiting.

Is the sky really accurate?

Yes. Every star is placed for your exact minute and place, with Earth’s rotation, precession, the real Moon phase and the planets. You can test it against tonight’s sky in the editor.

I don’t know the exact time.

Tick “Don’t know the time?” and we use 10 pm. An hour only turns the sky by 15°, so the same constellations are mostly there.

What if I make a typo?

You see everything in large type before paying, and you get 3 free edits for 30 days after.

What sizes can I print?

Print-ready PDFs for 8×10, 12×16, 18×24 in, A3 and A2, a 4800 × 6400 PNG (300 dpi), and photo-center JPGs for 8×10 and 16×20 prints.
